The classic version of Supergirl was a big part of my childhood as well as my sisters. The only one I can recall who wore a skirt! For me, it was all about drawing her flowing hair and cape, I"d spend endless hours (before and after becoming a comics professional!) sketching them. She represents optimism and a free-spirited nature, without an ounce of guile, and this is how I interpreted that visually.
