Wintry Weasel

"It has not felt like winter very much but this morning we all woke up under a thick white blanket of snow. The pond is frozen over as well, proper winter conditions! I find many different tracks around the birdfeeder: small and large birds, voles, squirrels and a weasel as well. A fox apparently walked around the back of the shed. I can track the weasel's path from the birdfeeder straight to a den of the Wood mouse. I'm afraid this may have been his last winter..."—Marjolein Bastin
